LB Clint Ingram - UPDATE: Now a Saint.

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; This could be a very good signing. He's very familiar with the defense already and I think he'll start....

He's decent as he's been playing throughout his career, the thing is that he has a ton of more potential than what he's actually produced. A change of scenery is just what this dude needs I think and I honestly think in the right situation he could be a dominant player, possibly pro bowl caliber.

Definitely an upgrade over Fujita.

I'm surprised that no one else was courting him. Once he gets to camp he'll probably do just fine. GW has some knowledge of the player and wouldn't bring him in unless he felt like Ingram still could play.
Now, do we trade to get a DT?

He is one of the most physically talented guys in the league. Not many guys of his size and strength can run like he can. I think GW can do some good stuff with him.

People are saying Henderson about the NT, but we really have a ton of options now that we have gotten an OLB to replace Fujita. Some are saying Haynesworth, which would be really awesome, though I have doubts that it'll ever happen. So the question is, what are some good NTs that teams would be willing to trade for a LT.

Also note, we could also stick with Al Woods, who the coaches and the FO seem to think is going to be a good player. The "him being unproven" aspect of it has to come into discussion though. Whatever the scenario: that being we trade JB for an NT or for picks; I think we have to trade him.

Re: LB Clint Ingram - UPDATE: Now a Saint.

I’m thinking that, at the very least, it gives us another veteran LB to hold down the fort along with Scott Shanle on either side of Jonathan Vilma while helping to guide the younger guys trying to make the squad at the position and give them further help along the way to maybe making one, two or three of them into real studs by the end of this year or going into next year.

I also think, like Shade does, that the change of scenery from Jacksonville (no fan base) to NOLA (tons of love; just ask Sharper about the level of "love" he has enjoyed in the Big Easy...) will do him a ton of good and he'll play inspired and up to his full potential this year anyway.

News was that he was being moved all over the place and the schemes had changed from mainly 4-3 to more 3-4 and he wasn’t as effected partly as a result of those changes and the inconsistencies of his placement down after down on the field.

Besides, doesn’t Jack Del Rio have a history of getting into it with his linebackers on a continual basis anyway? And who would be happy about playing in Jacksonville with zero fan support anyway? Seriously!

I betcha he’ll really enjoy the love in NOLA and I predict that he flourishes here…
