WEEK 1 NFL 2010: SAINTS FAVORED IN 2010 OPENER OVER VIKINGS
The New Orleans Saints start their 2010 title defense on Thursday, September 9 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Belmont.com has already released the Week 1 NFL odds for all 16 games. New Orleans is a four-point home favorite with a total of 53 points. It’s never to early to talk some NFL betting – we’ve got early odds. These teams met in the NFC title game last year, with New Orleans surviving 31-28 in overtime. Brett Favre threw an interception late in regulation and the Saints won the turnover battle 5-1. Minnesota out-gained them 475-257 in total yardage. There are almost too many good story lines for this upcoming game. You can start with New Orleans trying to keep their edge after their stunning Super Bowl upset over Indianapolis. The Saints are the class of the NFC South, with only Atlanta capable of challenging them. Carolina and Tampa Bay are far behind. The offense will be Super Bowl caliber once again with quarterback Drew Brees. The question is the defense and whether it can be more consistent week in and week out. Minnesota is still waiting for Favre to say he’s coming back. There is some minor ankle surgery that needs to be done, but that shouldn’t deter him.
