I guess we picked up this kid as a UFA, after the draft. Has some character issues supposedly, but is a big, physical receiver. Could be another Colston type pick, as he was said to have played like a "man amongst boys", at Norfolk State.

Scouting Reports
A big, physically put-together wideout who looked like a man among boys at the I-AA level, Bell possesses a decent first step off the line but is a powerful route runner who picks up speed as he goes and has a physical element to his game. He lacks elite speed, but tracks the ball well downfield and showcases the coordination to adjust and haul in the tough catch. He isn't afraid to be physical off the line and displays the ability to drop his shoulder and rip his way through press coverage on his outside release. He's a gifted jump-ball threat. Bell is physical after the catch, showcases good body control and power with the ball in his hands and is tough for the initial man to bring down underneath. He does a nice job changing speeds in order to set up defenders. But he isn't a polished route runner, is consistently asked to run the nine route or crossing routes underneath and still has a long way to go in that respect. He has a tendency to glide in and out of his breaks and isn't sharp when asked to change directions. He was able to make an instant impact at Norfolk State this past year but does have some character concerns (he was kicked off the Penn State team). But he's a gifted athlete with all the physical tools and a lot of room to grow. If he's willing to put in the time, his best is still ahead of him.

I'd love to see a talented guy like this on the practice squad, but what I'm most looking forward to is seeing Adrian Arrington finally on the roster. He's too good to lose.

How do we know that? In all fairness his NFL body of work is squat... I'd rather bank on Lance Moore.

sounds like sean canfield has a lot of toys to make the preseason interesting.will this be the year where arrington out does moore. someone needs to stay healthy which may be the reason they brought in bell?

Arrington is trash. All I hear is how good he is. I say prove it. He is allways hurt and could not even beat out our #6 wr. How is he going to be better then Moore?

trash migh be a little strong, because as you say, he is always hurt, so we haven't seen him play.

what I don't like is that we don't know if he can do anything on ST either.

Roby has made himself into a top return man and a gunner on coverage- he's smart enough to see what his niche is-- don't see college receivers coming up knowing that.

STOP WITH THE BLOW jAbs. ARRINGTON HAS DONE NOT 1 DAMN Thing to suggest hes capable of playing in this league, STOP THE HYPE!!. He made 1 damn catch in preseason and many act like we got the next Jerry Rice. When he can stay healthy earn a roster spot, earn playing time and make plays then u can proceed to suck that guy until then, STOP take the homer glasses off throw them outta the window and jump out the window an land on them i have hope and faith in our guys but dont confuse hope and faith with fantasy!

On to Chris Bell The film shows a tall explosive receiver strong, will break tackles. I see a very poor mans Andre Johnson ( i say very poor mans version because hes a rook and College and the NFL r different) looks like he will fit right in make plays kid and you will play consistently, Make 1 great catch in preseason then u better ask the equipment guy for extra knee pads.
