Re: Former Saints security director withdraws lawsuit against Saints
This can been seen as a win for both sides publicly. But the Saints have more to gain from this for sure. For Santini it alludes his accusations have merit as the Saints have chosen to fight this privately and not publicly. Keeping any audio/video evidence out of the media and public.
For the Saints it makes the case a lot cheaper, less of a distraction for the team and those involved, and does damage control. Most people will read "lawsuit dropped" and no more. this DOES NOT effect the DEA's investigation or and possible action by the NFL. |

Re: Former Saints security director withdraws lawsuit against Saints
All this means is, it's going to an arbitration judge, it's pretty much keeping this out of the open while things get settled..
We might not get any news on this for a while, things could be silently settled or on-going for weeks or months, we may or may not find out the outcome. It's good news for the saints and the fans, but now that we "KNOW" something about this case thanks to santani bringing it to the press, we'll all be worried now, and you better belief Goodell will be listening on, i truely believe he didn't want us in the Superbowl anyway, he wanted the Brett favre vrs Colts, so he's probably frothing at the mouth right now at a the opportunity to slam the team and publicly lambaste them |

Good. We don't need the distraction. However, it's not over. It'll be lurking around for quite a while I guess.

Re: Santini withdraws lawsuit against Saints
Not dropped just withdrawn so they can go into arbitration. A couple of interesting things about this but one the matter becomes private. Saints invoked the clause which is very interesting.

Re: Santini withdraws lawsuit against Saints
I think what is dropped, or moved to arbitration, is the "damages" against Santini. There is still the felony theft of the Vicodin. I hope that I am wrong, but this will still be investigated.

Re: Santini withdraws lawsuit against Saints
Moving this out of the public eye is a very smart move. We don't need the distraction with us trying to win it all again. I realize there are still Feds investigating the matter. I just hope it works out in our favor. We have a good rep to the public and I hope it stays that way.

I'm glad they got it into arbitration so it doesn't taint the Superbowl season, but it makes you wonder. We've heard from the beginning the guy just wanted money and I guess that's what he's going to get.
