so, you're basically telling me "he's a player in transition of finding out how to play the NFL game (4 years later)".... yet.... YET here you are quick to get offensive to criticism about him??? Maybe, seeing seeing your sympathetic outlook on his ongoing period of transition, just maybe you would actually be open minded enough to not get insulted or take offensive to criticism towards him in light of the fact that, as you said, he's still trying to figure out the game 4 years later, eh? Not to mention all the sh!t you babbled out is nothing short of thoughtless rhetoric that quickly becomes fact in large Reggie Bush apologists circles. I could dissect your statements apart but I'm learning that you can debate with indifference, but not ignorance. You're a true idiot! I actually feel sorry for all Bush apologists collectively that you're speaking in their behalf. |

First off, we are an unarguably better team with Sharper. I am not the type to get directly critical about dollar amounts. I wanted... needed Sharper back. I could give a f*** at what cost it took. I dropped in to remind people how silly (and hypocritical) it is to talk chump change about our best defensive player when Benson is just funneling money to Reggie's account. Point being, apparently Benson's spending, so why loose a HOF'er, post one of his best years due to haggling when we see that he's capable of writing big checks.... not to mention, the pure hypocrisy of over-concern with Sharpers dollars with lack of concern for Bush when (at least the slightly more knowledgeable) know that contracts can change year to year regardless. You can't just tell me that Bush's contract is pre-arranged so we can't care / comment.... yet, Sharper is in negotiation so it's fair to talk CHEAP!.... because to me, that's exactly what you're saying. It's not limited to that and you know this.... Just like Grant, sh!t changes. Also, you can't tell me that we know that there hasn't been silent agreements and restructuring behind closed doors with Bush to come back for less.... it'd be in both's best interest and in both's best interest to remain discrete. I agree with a lot of your points in regards to milking high draft contracts and all of that..... I get that, and you know that, and you're a sharp guy.... and know, I understand this.... But, with everyone expressing disgust at Sharpers attempt at financial gain, or "cashing in" (which BTW, EVERY PLAYER DOES these days), meanwhile dismissing any concern with wanting to see Bush "Restructure" for fair dollars based on his production.... was not only ignorant, but football ignorant favoritism.... and in my view star-struck, jaded and not best for the team.... and yes, my arrogant opinion. Arrogant because I can't see it any other way.... and until you can convince me why everyone popping up saying "Sharper's not worth X amount of dollars" and getting personally concerned with what he seeks financially, yet not the least concerned with seeing Bush's contract restructured and you can spare me the "what the FO thinks who just won a Superbowl, vs. what you think... so you must be wrong" cr@p... because 1. you know as well as I that the concern to retain Reggie lies just as much in his marketing and moral investment value as it does his production.... and 2. It was me, all along saying Pierre "Is our Guy" and just make him the man.... this formula is how we had a SB winning season. Look at the stats... look at Reggie's stats... NOTICE: Reggies touches have steadily declined to an all time low up through last year... OUR SB winning season. Yes, less Reggie, more PT = SB winning season. I've BEEN saying this whilst the all knowing and ever crowd pleasing "FO and Sean Payton" have been wasting drives trying to let Reggie "transition to the NFL" forcing him to be the featured back. but in all, my jab at the Sharper dollars debate was fueled by the frustration that set me off at how quick the B&G nation could turn on a player like Sharper!!!!! |

"Just when the players call it a business, the coaches call it a game, and just when they players start calling it a game, the coaches call it a business." He went on to totally ventilate himself on the coach in that locker room, and when he finished, Poot, the character played by Nick Nolte, exclaims... "Far out, man!" (reps to you if it lets me) btw...if any of you have not seen that movie but are in fact a true fan of professional football, you must see that movie. It is actually based on a true story, and there are characters that represent Don Meredith (Mac Davis), Tom Landry (don't know the actor's name who played him), and a guy who I believe his name was Peter Gent. (Nick Nolte) Their names were different in the movie, but you knew who they were representing. Peter Gent was a guy who had great hands and moves, but apparently didn't do everything Tom Landry's way, so he didn't get the playing time he probably should have gotten. (That's the gist of the movie) Anyway, it is one of the most, if not the most realistic representation of pro football in a movie that I've ever seen. |

The effectiveness of Reggie's "transitioning" involves him transitioning himself to the sidelines. Go back over the last three years.... look at Reggie's touches vs. Pierre's touches.... see if you don't notice a trend of Reggie riding the sideline more, while watching Pierre and even Bell keeping the chains moving. The fact that he's played harder and focused the last four games (minus SB where he was more irrelevant) ..... do I: 1. get over-enthused because I've been waiting to see this for 4 overpaid years of his career, watching him play like the games biggest diva. or: 2. assume he was coming up on trade talks and criticism as irrelevant with Thomas and Bell carrying most of the load... while he was coming up on his biggest pay-out year, therefore expelled himself in order to retain his job? Why now, after four years, he's realizing that he doesn't have to dart out of bounds, and that if he squares up he won't break, and he can actually gain more yards be moving vertical.... and then it's commendable by fans as if he's improving or learning the game? Can we just not say, he's played like a scarred diva up until now? And if that's the case, I'm not that easy to please.... I'm not flattered that he's willing to "play the game" now, I question why he's half-a$$ed up until now.... taking a free ride of overzealous fan appreciation to the minimal output he offers vs. the big play payout. |
