Coaches need to get creative----
Right now it's time for this Saints team to put the first quarter of the season behind them. They need to concentrate on the Carolina Panthers and forget the past and not look any further than this next game. The coaches need to take the bull by the horns here and find some kind of way to spark this team. This team needs to play like they have nothing to lose and let everything hang out. If that means kicking an onsides kick at the beginning of the game, then that's what they should do. If that means putting Bouman in then so be it. If that means alternating Brooks and Bouman then so be it.
They need to try to be as unpredictable as possible. IMO -- that has been one of the biggest problems on offense. We need to keep defenses guessing instead of relying so much on Deuce. I can remember when Jerry Glanvile was the coach for the Falcons and I always dreaded playing them, because they were so unpredictable. This team needs an offensive explosion and they are capiable of doing it, if the coaches can get creative. Let's hope the coaches do something different aganst Carolina... Right now everything seems impossible and there seems to be little hope for the season, but I promise you If the Saints can beat Carolina that everyone here will be just a little more optimistic about the season. |

I said the same thing in 2000 when we were 1-3 and we were facing the Chicago Bears. We beat them and went on to a 10-6 season and won a playoff game.I think the difference between now and then is that we had more fighters on our team then. This bunch seems as lost as all get out.Haslett included.

I\'m gonna give ya a big ole AMEN on that post, Billy.
I\'ve been real angry for a couple of days; now I\'m ready for the rest of the season. I\'m definitely not gonna stop watching or listening to the games. Benson\'s not gonna fire anybody right now (and he shouldn\'t). And Southern Miss is gettin their rear end handed to em every other week. What\'s a guy to do? I will add a couple of positive things that I\'ve been meaning to post since Sunday. 1. Charles Grant, Grady Jackson, Roger Knight and Fred Thomas were working their butts off. I saw them running all over the field chasing after guys. Go back and look at the tape (if you can stand it). 2. Duece -- over 100 in 17 carries 3. okay... that\'s it... I could only think of three... uh... at least it was Archie\'s boy. Doesn\'t Number Eight deserve a little happiness in the Dome? It\'s kinda like gettin a whippin from someone in the family. Bring on the Panthers!!!!!! |
