hahaha... yeah, NGU3, you never know where we're gonna go next. As you can see our site pretty much lacks the thread police you might be accustomed to elsewhere, so "threadjack" is not considered a catastrophic event. Neither is an occasional duplicate thread. No one cries "use the search feature." And feel free to punctuate or not punctuate, whichever way your personal leanings (or time constraints) take you. Its kind of like the Open Range here, with seldom a "discouraging word."
Its nice being surrounded by mature, busy folk such as yourself. btw, your Houston friends are recovering from an outstanding crawfish boil. Crawfish was boiled by actual real live Louisianians, I might add. It was off-the-charts good. Youre on our mailing list for the next event. |

Thank goodness...because I know that I go off-topic frequently. I like it that people don't freak, and that's why this is by far the best site if your a nut-job like me. People know your problem, see your problem on a daily basis, and rather than ridicule, they nurture.

I like it when you do that. NGU3 will fit right in here, because I guarantee he has a story about: 1. driving over the Huey 2. the day he met Archie 3. escaping a non-Katrina hurricane 4. The stupidest thing he ever saw at Tulane Stadium 5. Something a family member saw in Vietnam and 6. something about Elvis. LB & Bob, feel free to let any story loose any time on any thread, punctuated or not, just because you feel like it. Welcome to the blackandgold. |

1. back in the younger days took a West Bank gal to a pre-season Saints game.... it was pouring raining and we were huddled under an umbrella... but we got soaked... Needless to say she was not happy and asked to go home.... Crossing the Huey P there is a major wreck and we sat there for 2 hrs.... not the most pleasant of memories... although her wet white Saints "T" did create nice memories.... 2. Played golf with Archie in Lafayette at one of the minor league tour events.... I always had the impression Archie was a non-drinking Baptist from Mississippi.... WRONG.......... He could barely swing the club by the time we hit the 18th hole.... Archie likes his cold beer... 3. "non Katrina"??? Living in Lafayette I got caught in the contra flow on the Sunday before... The Saints played the Saturday night before... 4. Stupidest thing in Tulane?? Where to start?? the military guy getting his hand blown off during one of the half time shows maybe.... or the 10,487,233 people who claimed to be there when Dempsey kicked his Field Goal...... the night before I had attended a high school dance... Like Archie I had a few too many cold beers and was not feeling very good when dad woke me to leave at 6 am (it took 4.5 hours to get to NO from Lafayette back in those days)... But I did get up and I WAS there... 5. Never had a family member in Nam... I had a draft card but being the braniac I was i was able to defer by going to college and by the time I got out the war was over... 6. Jailhouse Rock?? I think I he sang it in Central Lockup while I was waiting to be bailed out after a fight in the dome during a MNF game...lol... dude wouldn't take that damn paper bag off his head..... Being an old guy does have its benefits.... I GUARANTEE you I savored Feb 7 more than most...lol |

Playing golf WITHOUT beer? Now THAT'S sacreligious.... I'm usually gunned by the 9th hole.... |
