Re: Pierre Thomas holdout
He's better than Reggie Bush, and he should be paid accordingly.
If they swapped contracts, all would be OK. PT should be making Bush money and Bush should be making PT money. I say make PT happy, and if it costs us Bush, that's fine with me. |

PT is much closer to a franchise RB than Bush is, and should be paid accordingly, which is approximately what Bush makes now. |

Re: Pierre Thomas holdout
I don't blame Thomas for asking. He absolutely has the ability. He runs downhill and is great out of the backfield. My only question is his durability. First of all, the Saints are not a run first offense. He's only getting 12 to 18 touches a game, which isn't going to change with Bush on the roster, and he still hasn't been able to stay healthy. In my opinion, the offense wouldn't drop off that much if Hamilton was the back getting 12 to 18 touches and working Bush in. It's just the way the offense is set up. So, if he wants "bell cow" type money, I think he's going to have to get it elsewhere.

Re: Pierre Thomas holdout
Real world: Bush got a second pick overall, superstar contract. Yes, it was a mistake. Accept it and move on. He is NOT the measuring stick for all future contracts.
PT, or 'FF', (or whatever we are calling him) needs to get with his agent and look at what RB's with similar production and touches are making Give him a big one year deal, and then next year you are re-negotiating with Bush anyway, so now you decide who gets what. More real world: PT had 793 yards last year, 625 the year before. That's not a 6 million dollar back |
