An argument could be made that, barring injury, Drew Brees could accomplish as much as or more than Montana. He'll need a couple of more Super Bowls, of course. The WHO DAT nation would LOVE DAT! | |

Re: Drew Brees vs Joe Montana
No argument there for right now ... plus Montana has way fewer fumbles ... but these numbers represent Montana career versus Brees' career who is no where near finished yet. So there is time still. Can Brees catch him? And at Brees' current pace, is it not possible?

Re: Drew Brees vs Joe Montana
I think New Orleans fans are in a unique situation having seen Joe Montana play us 2-3 time a season and comparing that to 16-18 games with Brees. Brees reminds all of us of Montana.
I remember when Montana finally retired, I felt great that we wouldn't have to be playing him again, but at the same time, I was happy that we got to play one of the all time greats 2 times a year even if it meant losing. It was special watching him play. When you beat him, the Saints had accomplished something. Just remember, to be the best, you have to beat the best. The Saints just wasn't the best. I can accept that. Thanks for the memories Joe. Glad you're retired. |

Re: Drew Brees vs Joe Montana
This picture brings back memories. I was in Laughlin, Nevada with the family. We came across one of these booths where you could pick a picture and insert your face. There was a very similar picture of Joe...only he was looking downfield...and that's the one I chose. It came out perfect.
I didn't buy the picture, but I did take a picture of the monitor it was being displayed on. A year or two later I was telling one of my buddies at work that I played for the 49ers when I was younger, and of course he didn't believe it. I really stopped him for a moment or two when I told him about the time I dressed out for a preseason game and my wife got a picture of me from the TV screen...and then I showed him the picture. |
Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!
