Rugby, thats a commonly held belief, but I question it. The guy was undrafted, unloved, and came in, kicked the door in, and unseated the hotshot. It took a tremendous amount of character to come to camp and do that.

In my opinion, at this level, I dont think anyone is made by the system. You have to be a spectacular athlete to start with, and have an exceptional sense of discipline, not to mention a tolerance for pain, heat, and pressure. I dont think the system makes them, but rather a good system recognizes pure talent, aptitude, and attitude. Notice, for instance, how we dont have any T.O.'s or PacMan's.

It does appear that we can just plug in any guy, and it works, but my guess is they recognize quality talent and character from the outset. Bear in mind the system didnt work so well in '07 and '08, with basically the same people. I dont think the sytem changed. I think the players developed, as quality people will do.
