"Here we go again" Saints have no heart under Haz
from Pro Football Weekly after the Titans debacle:
Haslett taking blame to protect the fragile psyche of Saints players New Orleans After taking a 27-12 pounding at the hands of the Titans in Week Three, Saints head coach Jim Haslett admitted that he had been outcoached and simply did not have his team prepared to play. We’re told Haslett was trying to deflect some of the blame from his team to his coaching staff because there is concern that the team’s already-fragile psyche wouldn’t be able to take a week of getting bashed by the fans and media. Insiders suggest that the team lacks heart, as it fails to fight through adversity when it presents itself and instead takes a “Here we go again attitude when the going gets rough. Because Haslett doesn’t want his team throwing up its hands due to the slow start, he is trying to make people think that he didn’t have his team properly prepared to play. The downside of that strategy is that it may lead people to think that Haslett isn’t the man to lead the team back to the playoffs.
