Re: So who here actually likes the new OT rule?
Personally I hate the new OT rule. Only aproximately 37% of the teams receiving the kick off score on their 1st. OT posession. Its nothing more than pandering to the crybabies that whine, "its not fair for OT to be decided on the flip of a coin", which, btw, its not. IMO OT should pick up right where regulation ends, with whoever has the ball at that time, same down , same position on the field and then sudden death. The commissioner and the owners are weaklings for caving into fan and media pressure on this.

just did'nt like them tweaking the rule because the saints beat the whinners in minnsota, which probably won't have a team in a couple of years.

I still say play a 7 minute quarter just like it was regulation. If the receiving team can hold on to the ball for 7 minutes more power to them but for the most part this should allow for each team to have 1 possession. After the 7 minutes if the score is still tied the game ends in a tie unless it is the playoffs and then you continue the same format. Just my opinion.

good point QBREES. You know a coin toss can decide a division winner or a wildcard. (see tiebreaker rules) So they should quit their whining, and win the game in regluation.

Re: So who here actually likes the new OT rule?
the only overtime rule change I'd make is no draws 1 team wins 1 team looses. go sudden death college FB style start at the 50 4 downs to score only 1 first down per series
