Foods you eat when watching Saints games?
My staple is wings. I have a tradition where I only make wings using Tiger Sauce. This started last season when I made wings form Tiger Sauce for the first game because I had dropped and broken the Franks I normally use, so I used Tiger Sauce in a bind. It was definitely a case of messing up and doing something right, because it is AMAZING. I carried this ritual until I had some folks come over that requested traditional wings for the Dallas game. Well we all know how that turned out, and I used regular until the end of the season! (sorry I should have known better!) By the playoffs I went back to Tiger Sauce and the rest is history. When I was a kid my sister and I used to watch Lassie. In the beginning of the show they did a bit where they introduced the cast of characters. Of coarse they saved the introduction of Jon Provost who played our beloved hero Lassies' master named Timmy, until right before the introduction of Lassie. We got many a chuckle joking that when they introduced him by saying "Jon Provost as Timmy" that they were actually saying " Jon Provost is a Weenie." You see we thought this was funny because this guy Provost was kind of a weenie in the show. In fact we were pretty convinced that he was a roundmouth. Here see for yourselves. Maybe you too can have a little chuckle.
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=YG1UVCexVFg By the way! He is having a meet and greet on the 5th of October IN NYC!!!!! If any of you guys get a chance to see him PLEASE be sure and tell him this story, and make sure he knows the profound effect he had on the lives of the two young Beaman sisters! By the way II!! I am now convinced he is a roundmouth. |

Re: Foods you eat when watching Saints games?
I'm on the west coast, so it’s an earlier game. I'm eating breakfast fare...something like french toast, biscuits & gravy, hash browns. But with our plethora of prime time games this year that may have to change.

Re: Foods you eat when watching Saints games?
If mom's the cook then its normally jambalya or seafood gumbo, depends on the weather and if we are watching the game at her house
At the dome it's nachos or jambalya depends on my mood |

Since its alway evening/night during the games over her I usually just have some snacks, chips and coke. I cook the occasional hamburger thou and they would knock your socks off.
|
Re: Foods you eat when watching Saints games?
What I eat during the games, or anytime, for that matter, usually depends on what my wife feels like cooking. If she doesn't feel like cooking, then I don't eat anything...except for things that don't require cooking.

Re: Foods you eat when watching Saints games?
Depending on what time the game is on, remember I am in England so there is a big time difference. I usually start with a nice bowl of tomato soup with lots and lots of black pepper. Then its roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, cabbage and carrots and plenty of gravy. Then finally treacle pudding and custard or maybe a nice slice of lemon cheese cake. All washed down with a few pints of Guinness. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp! Ah! that's better. How I love game days! LOL.

Re: Foods you eat when watching Saints games?
If I'm home, it could be anything fron Bulgogi and rice, Yakimandu, Kalbi, or if shes not cooking then DiGiorno's. If I'm at the sports bar, either a burger or wings, and if I'm on the road, whatevers cheap and handy. My drink of choice being Beam and diet 7up at home and beer at the bar, on the road, its soda. Oh well, nothing amazing or fancy but it works for me.

Re: Foods you eat when watching Saints games?
Most of the time Sunday morning is spent in the kitchen making Chili, and Sunday afternoon is spent eating chili.... my wife sometimes sleeps in the guest bedroom on Sunday nights....
On the rare occasion I don't have chili, I have wings. Beer is always the drink of choice. |

Re: Foods you eat when watching Saints games?
I cook a lot of different things when not at the games, but this is one of my favorites, I call it Train Wreck (cuz that's what it looks like in the pot).
Block of velveeta, 2 cans rotel (hot), 1lb ground meat and 1 pack jimmy dean hot sausage (browned and drained), and one jar of Mezzeta jalapenos-Hot (chopped). Cube the cheese, add to a sauce pot on warm, thrown in the meat, both cans of rotel, jalapenos; and simmer (stirring often to keep from scorching), and serve w/ Tostitos or Fritos scoops. Many similar dips out there, but this one is THE BOMB. Tried and true. believe me, if you make it you will thank me for the recipe!! |
Re: Foods you eat when watching Saints games?
u from Texas? we make that all the time...also i use rotel and ,make some really smokin salsa...sounds good think i will go make some now..lol
|
Re: Foods you eat when watching Saints games?
Nah, but I've been making that dip since college. It's pretty basic, but the combo has changed a bit over the years. I love it, but it burns the next day!!
