New Orleans Saints sign veteran guard Terrence Metcalf, release rookie Joe Tonga
By Mike Triplett, The Times-Picayune The New Orleans Saints signed veteran guard Terrence Metcalf, who spent his first seven seasons with the Chicago Bears from 2002-2008. He was released last March and spent a few weeks with the Detroit Lions in training camp before being released again. Metcalf (6-4, 310) appeared in 84 games with the Bears, including 25 starts, after being drafted in the third round out of Mississippi in 2002. He was a full-time starter for one year, in 2005. To make room, the Saints released undrafted rookie guard Joe Tonga. |
