CZAR'S SCOOP: Saints RB Deuce McAllister was hospitalized Saturday night in Charlotte with flu-like symptoms, but the club believes he is 50-50 to play Sunday. The Saints players, led by QB Aaron Brooks, had a players-only meeting this week, plus they watched film in groups during the week. Brooks and others even worked extra on the practice field after coach Jim Haslett ended his drills. WR Steve Smith has calmed down about what GM Marty Hurney said during contract negotiations. Smith will be a restricted free agent next year, so the Panthers don't even have to offer him a new deal.
