Mike Florio says that we should cut Bush
This man must have something seriously wrong with him. Here is what he says:
The Saints rely on a multi-headed attack at tailback, and Bush is only a bit player in the offense. But the Saints owe him a base salary of $8 million for 2010. On one hand, the Saints should have every right in an uncapped year to spend way too much on a locally beloved role player who'll never live up to the hype. On the other hand, the Saints shouldn't ignore the connection between Bush's overcompensation and their inability to sign the franchise's top running back, Pierre Thomas, to a long-term deal. Ideally, the Saints would pressure Bush into taking less money. But he'd most likely refuse, and then the Saints would have to decide whether to call his bluff by cutting him. So they should just cut him now. They won't, but they should. Read more: Seven big-name players who should be cut - Mike Florio - NFL - Sporting News |

I love this article because it's so INCREDIBLY stupid and ridiculous...hopefully by writing something so completely idiotic, people will learn to ignore Florio, and maybe he'll go away. How he maintains credibility is beyond me.

Re: Mike Florio says that we should cut Bush
The reggie bush discussion is hereby opened again lol To be perfectly honest, ive said this a number of times. Sure Reggie bush is not a every down back, thats why we have pierre and now lynell Hamilton. Coach Payton absolutley loves having reggie though, he brings a dynamic to the team that no other team has. Coach payton knows what to expect out of bush, he knows that he may not have a great deal of touches every game, but the defense MUST account for him, which leaves colston, meach, henderson and moore in one on ones. AND i for one love our receivers when they are defended one on one, cuz we always win those matchups cuz of drews timing with em.
This guy has no clue lol |

Re: Mike Florio says that we should cut Bush
I do get the point Florio is making and see logic behind it. I think we all know that 8 million is a tough number for a role player, but he is a key contributor, and absolutely agree that having him on the field does open the rest of the offense up. If the salary cap was in place this season, it's pretty safe to assume he would have been asked to redo his contract or face getting cut. Fortunately, the Saints don't have to make a decision on him this year and can move forward trying for a repeat.
