Former N.O.Saint Eric Johnson & Jessica Simpson

--------------------July 2010
Eric Johnson, who used to play for the San Francisco 49ers as a tight end (and he definitely has…err, excuse me, WAS a great tight end), filed for divorce from his wife back in February of this year and is now squeezing Jessica Simpson.

Johnson hasn’t had much luck lately. His NFL career looks to be stalled. He played for the 49ers from 2001 to 2006, then signed on with the New Orleans Saints in 2007. They picked him up again for the 2008 season then changed their minds and dropped him because of an ankle injury that took too long to heal up. His roster status is still active as a free agent, but no takers.

What’s wrong with Eric Johnson? Unfortunately, he is a washed up NFL player whose career got sidetracked by an injury at the wrong time. Hopefully he invested his money wisely while he had it and doesn’t end up homeless like Ray Williams.

Or maybe that’s why he’s dating Jessica Simpson now?

The Saints have released tight end Eric Johnson. The eighth-year veteran has been unable to compete for a roster spot throughout the summer because of a lingering ankle injury, and he became expendable when New Orleans traded for Jeremy Shockey this week.

Johnson joined the Saints in free agency last year, and he re-signed with the team this offseason. But the ankle injury, which he suffered while training on his own in February, unexpectedly turned into a months-long issue.

When healthy, Johnson showed signs of being one of the league's best young pass-catching tight ends, but his career has been plagued by various injuries. In his best season, Johnson caught 82 passes for 825 yards and two touchdowns with the San Francisco 49ers in 2004. Last year with the Saints, he caught 48 passes for 378 yards and two touchdowns.

Johnson will be replaced on the roster by rookie cornerback Tracy Porter, who just finalized his contract with the team.

Hmmm, the Saints traded Mr. Eric Johnson for somebody named Shockey. What kind of name is that? Shockey? Then , Coach Sean P. and his coaching staff replaced Eric Johnson for a Tracy Porter ? What, a girl? Tracy? What kind of guy is named Tracy? What can he do ?

LOL!!!!!!!

Glad Johnson is not a N.O. Saint. Whew!!!
His stay was really short.
Talk about a twist of fate and you know the rest.
