New Orleans Saints Q&A: Defensive lineman Jeremy Parnell
Jeremy Parnell is an defensive lineman in his second year with the Saints. Parnell, a practice squad member, signed with the Saints in 2009 as an undrafted free agent after playing only one year of college football at Ole Miss. In that one season, he played in five games and had one tackle for loss as a defensive lineman. Before that, he played four years of basketball for the Rebels, and as a senior he averaged 3.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game and had 22 blocked shots. He initially signed with the Saints on May 4, 2009, and was waived and re-signed to the practice squad four months later. He recently spoke with staff writer Robert Stewart.
Who was one player you admired growing up? "Michael Jordan. Everybody likes Michael Jordan. I've been a big fan of him since I played basketball. I liked Orlando Pace. He had great footwork, big guy, long arms, talented guy." Do you have any pregame or in-game superstitions? "Just pray before you play, that's all. And leave it all out on the field." Who is your favorite coach from college or high school? "Tracy Rocker. I met him at Ole Miss when I played d-line. Other than that, Andy Kennedy. He's a real character in the locker room." Who is your favorite artist? "Lil' Wayne. Everybody likes him. He really goes deep into his music. I really like that." What is your favorite pregame food? "A lot of pasta. I eat that to build energy." What is your best football memory? "Winning the Super Bowl. (laughs) First year in this thing winning a Super Bowl, it don't get no better than that." Who is your biggest fan? "My mother. She's been supporting me ever since I was young." If you weren't playing football, what would you be doing right now? "I'd probably be an architect or something like that. I really like a lot of art. I like buildings and things like that, and the history on them. I studied art in college. They didn't have architecture at Ole Miss. But eventually I'm going to get that degree." What other position would you want to play if you weren't playing offensive line? "Probably d-end. I'm fast, strong, big. Defense is fun." What is your favorite sport besides football? "Basketball. It's five-on-five, a lot of energy, a lot of passion goes with that game." |

Re: New Orleans Saints Q&A: Defensive lineman Jeremy Parnell
The article starts out saying that he's a D lineman and then towards the end it says if you weren't O line what would you play? What?
