With Haslet gone all we\'ll have is Rick Mueller and Mickey Loomis as GM and head personnel men. Are we confident that Rick can handle this or is even the best man for the job? I\'m not. Thus, even if we bring in a new coach he\'d need to be somebody experienced in talent evaluations at this level. Bringing in a college coach is a risky proposition with this set up. The best answer, if Benson doesn\'t want to make a GM change, in my opinion would be Dennis Green. Give him the same power over personnel that Haslet has and he just might be willing to take the job. He has proven what he can do with a team and seemed to be a good motivator. He also has experience with bringing along young QB\'s. I don\'t think the fit could be any better. |

I think so far Denny hasn\'t found the job he wants. I think he might be a good choice. I was also thinking about Jimmy Johnson? God forbid? I\'m amazed at the success of the Cowboys also. They look like I wish we looked.

Point well taken. What you say is absolutely true. But I do agree he\'d make a good coach. Back up the Brinks truck!

I think we\'re in perfect position for a guy like Green to come in. IF haz is fired, then we\'ll need an experienced personnel man in the GM position. Green is power hungry? We\'ll just give him both HC and GM duties. You can\'t have more power short of owning the team.
I don\'t know about the money part, though. Benson can be cheap - which I think is why he went with Mueller and haslet in the first place (relative unknowns who could be had at a lesser price). |
