Re: To Ramsey or not to Ramsey?
Well, at this point who else can the Saints possibly bring in? I think it's a good move, Ramsey is a smart guy who will benefit from the coaching staff in place. If anyone can salvage his career it is Sean Payton. I do believe this is an upgrade over Brunell. Would really hate to start the season with a rookie and a 2nd year QB as the only options if Brees cannot go.

Re: To Ramsey or not to Ramsey?
I'd love a stop-gap veteran to fill in for a 3 or 4 game span if necessary. Ramsey fits the bill.
It'll be fun to see how far Daniel advances with a Payton season under his belt. Canfield is long-term project number 2 right behind Chase. Since Payton is a QB guru, I'll bet they have their eyes on several veterans whould could come in and stop the bleeding if Brees is forced to miss some games. I wouldn't sell the staff short on a QB contingency plan. Keep it simple and let the stars around our QB step it up. But lets hope no one sees the field other than Brees. |

Re: To Ramsey or not to Ramsey?
While I don't think he is long term starter material, I do think he is a capable backup and would probably be ok to come in for a few games. I have enough confidence in the FO that any QB they sign as a #2 will be good enough.
