Tropical Storm/Depression Bonnie is seemingly headed toward the city of New Orleans and will surely bring along some high winds and plenty of rain. It is nowhere near the strength or size of the natural disaster that ransacked the city back in August of 2005, but it will probably still bring back plenty of unpleasant memories for the residents of the city.
As the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina approaches; this reporter would like you to know that he is not one of those that even really recognizes it anymore. My thoughts are that this horrific event is in our past and it should be kept that way. Times have changed, things have moved on, and we need to merely stay prepared in case another storm heads our way some day. What I do often think about though is what would have happened if Tom Benson had packed up his team and .... If the Saints had moved, the lost for the city would have been an economic bust and this would not have mattered if the Saints won the SB or not.
It is one of the few positives. Add that if the team moved, and then won SB in those short years after people here and around supported the team forever, the emotional blow,failure,.... |

I am with you all, thank God the Saints didn't leave. Now just saying, if they would have left, we pretty much know the Super Dome would have been imploded, I know for me personally I would have stopped following them, and probably the NFL for that matter too.

It seems trivial to some, but IMHO The Saints are the face of New Orleans. If they where to leave...I guess it would still be home to us from there....but a huge part of what home is would be gone, for me anyway. There would be a huge void in my life!
