made a road trip to the game this past week so i've been off the board and am just now catching up

swampdog, swampi, moron or whatever he calls himself should just be flat out ignored
comments about how great our o-line was because AB didn't get sacked while failing to realize that we had 2TE's a FB and Deuce all blocking on damn near 60% of our plays was stupid but then the ignorant profanity toward saintfan was ridiculous, get a life, and i wonder if 08 even really watches the games

people are still bashing AB for no good reason, although some of the arguements at least have some thought put into them, ie. pepping up moral on offense

i was one who had always given Haz the benefit of the doubt but now i agree with everyone, our coaching stinks and i think McCarthy is the worst of the bunch after watching the carolina game, i think Haz is a close 2nd, if benson wasn't such a power monger i think denny green would come here but i dream on

concerning the talk about players having personal issues with AB and not playing up to their best, i don't see it, conwell and stallworth are the two biggest culprits of dropping passes and they both look truly disappointed in themselves every time

bottom line: we looked good for the most part against carolina, we lost on one big special teams play by HeHateMe, over the next few weeks as we start to get guys back from injury on defense, they'll be able to take some pressure off of the offense early in games, the team will look better in the coming weeks, don't get me wrong the season is still down the crapper but we'll look better going down

on a sadder note, what happened to this board? where did dat, B&B, gator, cloner, austin, pak and everyone else go? this board used to rock now with the exception of a few (saintfan, fwtex, sometimes billy :P and a few others) it's filled with morons who just run off at the mouth and know nothing about football

We\'re all still here, just some of us would prefer not to reiterate things over and over that we\'ve posted in the past- at least that\'s my take on it.

and surprisingly they don\'t really like jake
They will when he takes them to the playoffs. Sounds like you had a good time, despite the loss, so that\'s cool. Never been to Charlotte, but this one girl I know swears it\'s the coolest city to live in.

Sorry to disagree B&B, but jake isn\'t going to take them anywhere. Stephen Davis and their defense will take them as far as they go. In spite of what Saintz08 would have people believe, Jake hasn\'t done anything any average QB couldn\'t do. High percentage passes and a healthy spoonful of the running back is their formula so far...and nothing wrong with that, but Jake has VERY little to do with it!

Touchy touchy. Everyone around here is so damn touchy when it comes to metioning any QB in the league. You\'ve got the AB backers who swear he is the second coming, and then you have the AB bashers on the other side, proclaiming him to be the single worst QB in NFL history. And there I am, stuck in the middle, catching random shrapnel from both sides. Leave me the hell out of this, ok? As quick as a QB can win a game, that individual can easily lose one as well. I agree that it may not be Jake\'s job to win the games, but it IS his job not to lose them. He is the center-point of that offense. True, Davis is the big gatlin gun, but Jake is the cog that allows it to swivel, catch my drift?

The waiting drove me mad....

I don\'t mean to rag ya B&B, but Jake Delhomme, while he has done an outstanding job up to this point, is hardly the \"center-point\" of that offense. Take away their running game and you\'ll see real quick what their center-point really is. Think about it...

Here\'s my favorite comment, found at the Times-Picayune.......

OVERHEARD: \"Thanks for Delhomme! You can keep the Hornets.\" -- Taunt heard at Ericsson Stadium from Panthers fans to Saints fans.
Now this I think is funny.

Regardless of what you think or what team your referring to, the fact of the matter is that the QB is the center point, on any team. He doesn\'t have to be the best player on the offense, but he is still the center-point because 1) every other player on the field revolves around his actions 2) He is the only player that touches the ball on every play. That makes him the \"center-point\". I think you are confusing the term, \"center-point\" and \"great player\", as they are NOT one and the same.

I think \"center point\" refers to what the offense is built around and the Panher\'s offense isn\'t built around the passing game or Jake Delhomme. It\'s built around the running game and Stephen Davis. Now, if you want to give credit to Jake for handing off to Davis then I guess Delhomme is the center point.

*sigh*

I give up trying to explain this.

EDIT: I think the two of you are confusing \"focal point\" with \"center point\"
