It was fate that the Saints first super bowl appearance was against a Manning. As any other New Orleanean, I am a die hard Saints fan. I was in high school when Archie was drafted and remained loyal to him, as did many others, during his tenure with the team. Archie has been an ICON to the city and we watched as both Peyton & Eli were drafted and won Super bowls. We wondered what it would be like if either of them had won a super bowl with the Saints. Then it was our turn and when Peyton could not find the courage to congratulate the team he grew up with, I found myself no longer a Manning family fan . I now rejoice in our new ICON, Drew Brees.

The Manning family still does a lot for NO and the surrounding area, as mentioned in the article. Because of that I can't hate them. But I was disappointed when Peyton Manning didn't congratulate anyone after the game. Manning said he left the field to give the Saints they're moment but that's BS. You go congratulate the other team. Also, I think the family needs to get over it.

Sure, it was tough that night, but a new season is here and if you can't look back and be happy by now and celebrate with the city then your being a bit childish.
