Loomis presser comments...
Waived DT Earl Heyman & cut FB Jason McKie.
Sharper, Colston, Ingram & Meachem have not passed their physicals & placed on the active PUP list. jeffduncantp The active PUP list means the players will not count against the 80-man roster limit & can be activated once they pass physicals. jeffduncantp Loomis expects Sharper & Colston to pass physicals soon. Ingram & Meachem might take a little longer jeffduncantp Loomis: The re-signing of Bobby McCray was not planned. He said something happened in the last 30 days that caused them to bring him back. jeffduncantp Colston has a lingering knee issue. Underwent a scope procedure in offseason. Nothing serious, Loomis said jeffduncantp Loomis said in a perfect world the club would have liked to add another defensive tackle but circumstances did not allow it. jeffduncantp Loomis said it will be interesting to see if we can continue that takeaway) pace defensively. We can do a better a job against the run Payton is now on the air...wwl |

Re: Loomis presser comments...
from Roto, On Colston:
Marques Colston will start training camp on the active/PUP list after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee to correct a "lingering" issue during the offseason. It's not known exactly when Colston underwent the procedure. GM Mickey Loomis insists it's nothing serious, and Colston is expected to pass his physical soon. It doesn't sound like a major concern for the Saints, but this is a story to track in training camp. Colston's fantasy value has survived a past scope in addition to a microfracture procedure, but the multiple knee surgeries are a red flag for his long-term value. |

Probably why they brought McCray back. Look for Hargrove to play more DT this year. |

We'll still be looking down the barrel on running plays. I'm still hoping for something to happen with the FO. Hopefully there's trade talk going on with Loomis and company. When some one needs one of the positions that we are deep in we could get a good DT.

It's possible. Payton tells the guys every year that they aren't just competing against other guys on the team, but all guys on every team.
