The New Orleans Saints have officially parted ways with running back Lynell Hamilton.

Hamilton was waived after ending up on the injured reserve list this past week. He suffered an ACL tear in his knee after planting wrong in a practice against the New England Patriots.

The second-year running back was looking to step into the role vacated by Mike Bell after he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. A bad turn stroke of luck landed him on the IR and now on the waiver wire.

New Orleans made another roster move by signing rookie free agent linebacker Harry Coleman out of LSU.

Don't worry guys, waiving Hamilton is just a formality the Saints have to go through. The way I understand it, is players with 3 years or less in the NFL must pass through waivers if hurt during the offseason before they can be brought back and officially placed on IR. Since Hamilton is an unknown, and injured, he will probably be back in a couple days and placed on IR.
