Saints release LB Troy Evans; waive WRs Bradley and Harper, G Duckworth, CB Gorrer

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the team has released veteran linebacker Troy Evans, and that the club has waived wide receivers Mark Bradley and Rod Harper, as well as guard Tim Duckworth and cornerback Danny Gorrer.

“Decisions like these are never easy to make,” said Loomis. “Troy Evans was an instrumental part of the Saints’ Super Bowl XLIV Championship in 2009 and we are truly thankful for his hard work and dedication. We know that the fans of our team will be grateful for Troy’s contributions and the way he contributed to our success both on and off the football field. ”

“It’s always difficult when you have to make decisions such as releasing players that have contributed as much to the Saints as Troy has,” said Head Coach Sean Payton. “Troy was our special teams captain the past two seasons and provided us with tremendous depth at the outside linebacker position the past three seasons.”
