What to watch for in tonight's New Orleans Saints-San Diego Chargers exhibition game at the Superdome.
Michael DeMocker/The Times-Picayune New Orleans Saints new backup quarterback Patrick Ramsey will get a chance to play with and against starters in tonight's exhibition game against the San Diego Chargers at the Superdome.. FIRST QUARTER The New Orleans Saints' offensive line is coming off a dominating performance against the Houston Texans. But the unit usually has some early struggles against teams that utilize a 3-4 alignment as the San Diego Chargers do. In the 27-24 exhibition opening loss the New England Patriots, another 3-4 team, the line struggled early to locate the proper players to block. It'll be interesting to see how tackles Jermon Bushrod, Jon Stinchcomb and Zach Strief hold up against the Chargers outside linebackers and defensive ends. They should have an easier time because outside linebacker Shawne Merriman isn't expected to play because of an injured Achilles. read more |
