Bush healthy, having fun as Saints take 36-21 win over Chargers

NEW ORLEANS ― Reggie Bush finished Friday night’s 36-21 win over San Diego with 86 total yards on 10 touches.
It was the latest sign yet that Bush is feeling as good as has since entering the NFL in 2006.

"I’m not rehabbing any injuries," Bush said. "I’m healthy. I’m able to progress. It’s probably the healthiest I’ve been in a few years. I was focused on improving. That has been the factor so far."
His biggest play of the night shouldn’t have even happened. Quarterback Drew Brees was surrounded in the backfield and had to step up in the pocket. But before crossing the line of scrimmage, he shuffled the ball to Bush in the flat.

Bush turned, saw open field and darted 38 yards to San Diego’s 30-yard line. It put the Saints in scoring position with less than two minutes to play in the first half and the game tied at 14.

"When I seen Drew take off and (the defender) after Drew, I just kind of stepped back and he shuttled me the ball," Bush said. "Drew’s a great quarterback. He does a great job thinking on his toes."
Yet, Bush likely has a hard time with that play the previous two seasons, slowed by sore knees.

Now he’s healthy.
And now he’s having fun.
"I’m just having fun," Bush said. "I’m being myself out there. I’m healthy. I’m explosive. I feel good. I’d say yeah, this is the most fun I’ve been having."

He is certainly playing with alot more urgency, just like did vs arizona in the divisional round last year. As he said brees thinks so well on his feet, he improvizes greatly. Bush does finally look healthy, heres to a good season for him!

I tell you what Bush is a bad man...but on that pitch from Brees he ran out of bounds..he could have had 5 more yards...i would have liked to see him lower that shoulder right there....but its preseason...no need to risk the injury...guy is killer in the open field...

I gotta say I haven't been the biggest Reggie Bush fan, but I think he's much improved from when he first came into the league. He did very well in last year's playoffs, and after what I've seen from him so far in the preseason I'm really expecting him to have a breakout year. He's running really well in between the tackles (which was his biggest weakness), and if he can consistently do that throughout the year, it will make a huge difference in the Saints' already potent offense.

For some it takes a while to learn the Pro game. I think it took Reggie a little while to get the College game outta of him.

Yeah, and missing time with injuries didn't help the cause either.
