Veteran nose guard Kendrick Clancy is healthy again and has drawn interest from the Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Texans and the New Orleans Saints, according to his agent, Ron Del Duca.

"He'll be playing somewhere soon," Del Duca indicated via his Twitter account. "Decision soon."

Clancy had surgery on his knee, but has recovered from the injury, per Del Duca.

Clancy, 31, played for the Saints for the past three seasons.

The 6-foot-1, 305-pound former Pittsburgh Steelers third-round draft pick has recorded 139 tackles, three forced fumbles and 5 1/2 sacks.

He was limited to two games last season because of the knee injury

hmmm, this may be excellent

I'd be really surprised if Woods is gone. You don't usually cut a player you just drafted. It could mean he's a backup instead of a starter, but he'll still be on the team. DT is supposed to be one of the harder positions to learn for new players, it takes time to get used to everything. They just might have seen that Woods might need some time to develop and have Clancy just for now or for injury insurance.

Ever hear of Antonio Pittman - 4R? Taylor Mehlhaff - 6R? Andy Alleman - 3R?

Payton maintains...it matters not how you got here, but rather what you do while you are here.

Woods has looked pretty good from what I've seen...and it could be I haven't seen much at all on Thursday and Friday nights. Did not look like he was being man handled or getting pushed around. He seemed to hold his own. I wonder how thick the data sheets are on who will stay and who will go. Woods looked like a keeper to me........to me......

i honestly did'nt watch much of his play but did catch some climpes that looked ok. he did stand his ground but it was on the wrong side and the ball carrier went by. you have to learn to drive opposite the pressure to plug the gap. they always said he were a work in process.so i agree he will bounce around the practice squad. clancy is insurance

If he is able to get the pressure we need up the middle then I'm all for it. He knows the system and is probably insurance in case we are unable to find another DT.
