Well atleast he's not making excuses, I like that in a player:

K #5 GARRETT HARTLEY

(On his mindset) “My mindset was great. I was hitting the ball real well in pre-season, practice and warm ups. I went 0 for 2, but I was fortunate the way the offense and defense played. The offense puts some points up and the defense shut the Vikings out.”

(On the missed kicks) “Both of them were completely on me. The snap and the hold were great. Things like that are inexcusable at this level. I just need to go back to my techniques and understand what I did wrong. I need to come out next Monday night against the 49ers and put some points on the board.”

So much for my new holder theory. But I swear I noticed him looking down at the spot/hold after his missed that second one.

I believe he'll get it going though. The kid is good.

It is cool that he is taking all of the blame, admirable, but the film will tell what the issue really was. Hopefully they will isolate it and be ready for next game!

I'm reminded Jerry Glanville. The NFL stands for "not for long" when you make kicks like that. LOL. I personally think he will correct it.

He'll be fine. How soon some of you seem to forget.

Some of you remind me of LSU fans.

Maybe Hartley can only kick under pressure if it's not life or death he can't focus. Whatever is happening hopefully the staff can get him re-focused. I think before every FG The Coach will need to slap him on the back and tell him to aim for the fleurs de-lie. This will eventually turn into a problem for away games.

Did some of you think Hartley was gonna go the rest of his career without having a bad game? Just be glad it didn't cost the Saints this game.
