In announcing plans to return his 2005 award, Bush effectively divorced himself from the past.

No more lies.
No more denials.
The gaudy wins, Pac-10 titles and bowl victories have been swept from the record books.
All that remains from his college career are the YouTube highlights and faded press clippings.
When he agreed to give back his Heisman Trophy, he essentially took off his wedding ring and threw it in the Pacific Ocean.
In a discussion on the Bush controversy on ESPN's "College Football Live" on Wednesday, Heisman Trust President Bill Dockery said it's "time to look forward and not look back."
Bush would be wise to adopt a similar strategy.

These anti-Reggie articles really rile me up. His only accomplishment is a Super Bowl ring?! Excuse me! How many players would forfiet every accomplishment in their careers for that. Then they make it some kind of disgrace that he didn't win it single-handedly, like maybe going out and taking on the colts 1 on 11. As far and not living up to the heisman, you have to go all the way back to Eddie George to find a heisman winner that "lived up" to that accolade. Calling him a situational back? That's because the Saints offense is a situational offense. Drew is the only constant! Adrian Peterson would be a situational back in our system! Will we be able to keep Reggie next year? Probably not, and I'll miss him and the team will miss him but we'll move on, just like without Deuce.
