Hawk wants out of Green Bay?
Hawk wants out of Green Bay?
Mike McCarthy reportedly heaped praise on A.J. Hawk in August, saying he was having the best camp of his NFL career. A month later, Hawk didn't play a single snap from scrimmage for the Packers in their season-opening victory at Philadelphia. After starting 62 of 65 games in his Packers' career, the former first-round draft pick appears to have reached the point where his best opportunity to be a key contributor on defense might be with another team. There's still more than a month before the NFL's Oct. 19 trading deadline and although Hawk's agent, Mike McCartney, stressed that Hawk remains committed to the team that drafted him fifth overall in 2006, he indicated that Hawk would be willing to change teams if it meant more playing time. Morning Jolt: Tom Brady calls out Patriots fans - Morning Jolt - SI.com I know that our LBs looked pretty good thursday but I'd still like to have Hawk. He was a guy I was hoping we would draft and he has been productive. Stats: A.J. Hawk - Stats, Bio – Green Bay Packers – NFL Football – SI.com |
W.T. Sherman is my favorite General. After all he did order Atlanta to be burned to the ground.

Vilma and Shanle handle the passing situations at LB. To have a real thumper against the run like Hawk would be a huge upgrade over whomever lines up with Vilma and Shanle in the other situations. Especially against the RB's the Saints face within the division. A guy with his talents would flourish in Williams defense. The last time the Saints got a disgruntled player from the Pack at a need position, it worked out pretty well. Benson has plenty of money. There is no cap this year.

I would like to see Hawk in a Saints uniform. We could use the help at LBer. Ingram could make a huge difference if he were on the field but he isn't. Like Strato said if we aren't going to pay for an elite DT, then it's hard to believe that we will open up the billfold for Hawk.
