Eleven days had passed since the New Orleans Saints had last stepped onto a playing field since their 14-9 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on opening night. A lot has happened since then including the Vikings falling to 0-2 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers temporarily holding first place in the NFC South with a 2-0 record. The Dallas Cowboys are winless while the Kansas City Chiefs are undefeated.

Talk about the world of the weird, and many thought that tonight's game would be anything but yet it still turned into a tad bit of the abnormal. Before all was said and done, the Saints had beaten the 49ers 25-22 on a Garrett Hartley field goal with no time left on the clock.

New Orleans has now started 2-0 in consecutive seasons for the first time in franchise history.
