nice link, Smash. Kinda saddens me to see Reggie here, knowing we're going to be missing him a while.
I dont care what anybody says, Candlestick is a beautiful stadium. Yeah, its cold. Be a man. I love the place. The sun's always out, you can see that mountain, and the whole sky, and the bay and all. I like the grass, and the whole outdoor thing. I also like Candlestick's isms and schisms. That whole section of empty baseball seats... The giant fold down thing that they convert to 50 yard line seats. Its not really round, but its not square. What the hell is it? I could look at Candlestick all day, because its so interesting. You can have your corporate retractable mega-domes. I like old places with isms and schisms. The place is historic, too, and the people are interesting, and have more class than Oakland. And its weird to know when you're there, its a whole different time back home on the Gulf Coast. I kept wanting to call and ask how hot it was, and if there were mosquitos. Of course, Im a rare Saints fan, who actually got to see the Saints win in Candlestick in the 90s. I'm glad I went. |
