Sorry SaintsLB, I've got to go the other way on this one. Its because I watched us self destruct so much week in and week out, that I'm calling for a ban on Saints ugly wins and object on the grounds that ugly wins, sooner rather than later, will morph into ugly losses. Why even walk that line? Why live on the edge when its possible put teams away early and remove the possiblilty of bad calls or mis-timed penalties affecting the outcome of the ballgame. If they cross their T's and dot their I's, and tackle as if they've been playing ball since their N.O.R.D. days, they can make it easier on themselves (we'd kind of enjoy it too).

And yes, I know that's drastic, and I certainly believe we are a playoff caliber team and a Super Bowl contender, but I am a bit surprised at the apparent willingness of the majority to simply blow it off. We sucked hard on Monday and got manhandled. I betcha Sean had a few words with the team about tacking and blocking whether he confesses it to the media or not. |
What exactly are you disagreeing about? I said the weather played a factor in the score... and I believe it did. I said whether you dominate or win ugly, you still chalk it up as a win... and it is. I said we played bad football and still won... which is exactly what happened. I said we're a good football team... and I believe we are.
I think it's more or less of you thinking I'm blowing this game off as just one of those games... which in some way, I am. It's one game. Now if this were to become an ongoing trend, then maybe I'd start panicking... but it's one game. We all saw what happened out there... and we all know we're better than that which is why I'm not concerned(at least yet after 1 game). For me this game just shows me that we're capable of being human and still win football games. Now would I like for the score like this all the time, heck no... but it happens to the best of them. |

It isn't like we won in spite of ourselves. San Francisco lost in spite of themselves, and there is a difference. |

Are Sean Payton's Offensive Game Plans Slowing Down the New Orleans Saints? | Bleacher Report Which 2-0 teams for real or just fake? - NFL News - FOX Sports on MSN The one thing I have noticed is that if the Saints don't have to get points, they don't. Usually we would have wasted the 49ers by taking advantage of the TO's, but we didnt. But when we absolutely have to get points the Saints always do. The last 2 minute drive looked like the drives we had most of last year. I wonder if something happens differently when the team is desperate for points? Wonder if we are actually playing teams instead of just playing our game? ..I dont know. |

We made plays in the end because SF screwed up and left us enough time to do so. A veteran QB and maybe a better HC wouldn't have left that much time on the clock. And they did give us the win...or let me rephrase. They wrapped it up for us. We did have to open the package. A better team shows us no love a'tall. Nobody says you have to be upset about how we played. Go right on. I'm pretty hacked off at how we played. We disagree. |
You'll feel much better next week. ;)
