The New Orleans Saints will take another look at veteran tailback Ladell Betts in the wake of Reggie Bush's broken leg.
Eliot Kamenitz/The Times-Picayune New Orleans Saints are bringing in Ladell Betts for a workout. Betts, who spent most of the preseason with the Saints before being released on the final cut-down day, will come in for a workout, a league source confirmed. Betts, 31, spent his first eight seasons with the Washington Redskins as a valuable backup and fill-in starter. But the 5-foot-11, 225-pounder suffered a torn anterior cruciate knee ligament last season and just returned to full-speed work last month. Wonder who will get cut? I would say it's a toss up between Arrington and Humphrey, unless someone is headed to IR that we don't know about...

Good move Betts is a quality player, played well in Washington when Portis was injured.

At least Betts can stop the bleeding for a while. I like the fact that he's known as an excellent pass protector.
Even if he's lost a step the fact remains that he won't be a liability when called on. |

Looks like Jacobs will stay with The G-Men for now which may have been an option. Interesting that The Skins cut Larry Johnson yesterday which was a bit of a surprise. Still in my book Ladell Betts should be able to help us and should fit well with the team. In DC he was a no nonsense hard working player who always worked behind the shadows of the publicity ridden Clinton Portis.

Yeah looked like they signed Betts for around $800,000.
