The answer to the defense

I had been working a thought that Haslett had taken over control and had formatted a design for Venturi to follow .

Turns out :

Veteran linebacker Darrin Smith said the Saints' coaching staff has simplified the defense, enabling players to play instinctively and do less thinking.

Seems to be working ....................

Anybody else think Haslett had stepped in somehow ????

I don\'t know how complicated the defense was before they simplified it, but there were always players that were out of position very badly. The last few games it seems that players are in the right spot most of the time.

I know no one wants to hear that the defense is better, but it sure looks better than last year to me. There are still problem areas but I think this defense is going to be pretty good this year.

Well, that\'s anyone\'s guess, but I think Haslett get\'s involved in every area (offense, defense, and special teams) of this team. Considering that the ASSISTANT coahes are just that -- ASSISTANTS -- But, since Venturi has been criticised as much as he has, I must give all the credit to Venturi.
