No the sky is not falling but fans are taking shelter anyway.
This isn't the same team that went 13-0 to start last year. We didn't do enough to address DT and LBer during the off season which has slowed us down and with out Sharper and Fujita we are a different team. Also, the Superbowl hangover is hurting us and it might be time for some Alka Setzer. We still have a Championship to defend. Put away the umbrellas! |
it shows me how good we are and not bad. 2-1 because we missed a kick. that will happen every year to almost everyone. it shows atlanta is one of the best teams in the league. we will be there at the end. we will not supprize anyone anymore. we have to deal with that. there maybe no blowouts anymore. we may live by the kick and die by it also. just maybe not by the same kicker?

just need to keep there noise to the grind stone and keeping working hard, Brees and company have got to be pissed off about that loss and plan to redeem there selfs next week.
I feel a big blow out against the panthers. |
I think the coaching staff, players and most fans realize that we have issues that we need to work on. All teams do and under Payton the Saints have shown they are capable of dealing with these types of issues and rising to the top. Sure we have things we need to get better at, but bottom line we barely lost a game in which Hartley missed a short field goal and Drew Brees threw two awful interceptions. I can’t see those two things happening very often.
Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and look at a few games from our fantastic 13-0 start last year: W at St. Louis 28-23 W at Miami 46-34 in a game we were getting throttled in. W at Atlanta 26-23 W at Washington 33-30 in OT in a game their kicker missed a short FG Yes I know these were all road games, but the Jets gave us all we wanted at home and the Atlanta game we hosted came down to one score at the end. So basically there are four games we won last year that we easily could have lost had things not gone our way. Throw in the NFCCG and you have 5. And let’s not forget how some wrote us off and cried the sky was falling after we lost the last three games of the reg. season. But Payton kept the team focused and made history. Of course we want to improve as a team. We want to block better, we want better focus from the WRs, we want better tackling and better performance from our place kicker. But to throw your hands up and say we suck because of the way the first three games went….three games we came out of 2-1, is a bit extreme to me. We looked this “bad” during the end of last season and turned it around. Just remember how far we’ve come and think back on all those years we would have been sitting 1-2 or 0-3 at this point. |

No panic here. I've seen it all before. Some times u make the kicks and sometimes u don't. It's football people, on any given sunday. So don't get down, this is not our old Saints. And they will get it togather and bounce back strong. For I have always been and will always be "THE LAST SAINTS FAN STANDING.
