again i ask what the hell happened here? do you think it's coincidence that pak, cloner and others have been gone for so long

the only discussions about football revolve around AB which is a tired subject, everything else is he said she said crap

i don't like to complain about something that is already apparent but truthfully the only reason i still come here is because i'm whipping a$$ in the fantasy football league

c'mon guys is it so hard to talk about football? speaking of which i am sonfident we will beat carolina today but tampa worries me, i would hate for us to go into the bye with a loss on our backs, i think that would destroy the confidence we have built in the last few weeks and hopefully today

somebody drop some knowledge on me to make me feel better about playing tampa

I\'m very interested to see how successful the running game will be today. We had success with the run against Carolina in the first game, but AB wasn\'t able to capitalize on that and take advantage of the weak secondary. I would like to see us use the running game to control the clock and keep Davis off the field.

I honestly think that this game is pivotal for the remainder of the season. If we win today, the Tampa game becomes much easier. We can run against the Bucs (everyone else has). I think that our running game combined with the confidence inspired by a three-game winning streak would propel us over Tampa.

Also, won\'t we have Hodge and Howard back by the time we play Tampa?

Well, Rusta. We need to see more right? We need to see our offense be successful against a good defense. We need to see our defense against a quality offense. Today our offense get\'s tested big time. If our offense is successful today that sould make us feel better heading into Tampa. Our defense is going up against the best rushing offense in the NFL, so if we can shut them down that should make us feel good.

I\'m unsure about this Saints team right now, but if we beat Carolina today then I\'m feeling much better. If we beat Tampa the following week then I have to think we\'ve got as good a chance as anyone at winning our division.

say we go into the bye 4-5, how does this team look mentally? does it make a differance going into bye 4-5 with a win over tampa or a win over carolina instead? or is 4-5 just 4-5 no matter what? i\'m talking team mentality here not future tiebreakers for the division

I think it would be better to win vs. Carolina. If we want to have a chance at the division or a wild card, we don\'t want to be swept by anyone, right? So, if we only get one, I choose today.

However, I contend that if we pull off a win today vs. a legit opponent, we WILL beat Tampa. No ifs ands or buts about it.

From a mental stand point I think a victory of Carolina is more important. We have lost to Carolina twice dating back to last year. The Saints are playing at home today with a lot to prove to the fans. If they win today and lose against the Bucs, I think they still remain confident. I think if they lose today that the confidence starts slipping somewhat.

But, if we lose today and beat the Bucs next week, I think we\'ll be ok.

i just think that if we go into the bye in good shape mentally then we really have a shot

the rest of our schedule looks fairly soft, teams that we play late that were supposed to be good teams are turning out to be flops

i just think our mental game is the key, our guys have to be there mentally

and if i hear one comment about AB and mental power so help me........

LMAO

I agree with you on the mentaility. This team has not been playing with confidence until the last game against the falcons. I don\'t think the players are sold themselves yet. I think if we beat the Panthers the players and the fans will be much more confident.

I agree about the remainder of our schedule after the break being soft (with Dallas as the possible exception -- I\'m interested in how they play today). That\'s why I think it\'s important that we at least split with teams in the division (Atlanta we should sweep).

Momentum is key.

If you want to be confident about winning the Bucs game, look at this: If they win today, they\'ll be continuing the pattern this season of convincing victory followed by embarrassing loss the next week. That\'s happened three times in a row this season. If they beat Dallas today, they\'ll be ripe for another loss next week. On the other hand, if they lose to Dallas, they will be suffering from a serious loss of confidence, wondering what went wrong.

Either way, I think next week looks good. I think this week looks good too. GO SAINTS!
