What concerns you and why

Yesterday, when I realized that the Fox affiliate in Philly was broadcasting the Saints game, I got to tape and then review the game late last night, though missing the 1st quarter. Here are my big concerns:

1) Fumblitis.

What the hell are our players thinking? Do they think these things only work one way? Protect that damn ball, especially in the red zone!!! And, being a rookie is no excuse, because you've had at least 7 years of football before the NFL; skill players shouldn't have that problem.

2) Dropsies

Again, what the hell are they thinking? Catch, secure, then figure out what to do next. 6 drops yesterday, 5 the week before, several each in against the 9ers and Queens. Gimme a break. $1-4 million a year to squiff?

3) Abandon ye all faith in the run.

Our line looks horrible, and that's because we can't get committed to the running game. Serious success yesterday, and still no one bites on playaction. Wonder why? Bull rush with 4 and you'll probably take care of the Saints' running game and make Brees check down quickly if they pass.

4) O-line.

Ran the tape several times, just to make sure. Can't block 4 rushers with 6 players on 5 occasions. Bree's average time in the pocket before collapsing is 2.8 seconds (roughly) Not enough time to stretch a defense. Wonder why no down field passing game? nuff sed.

5) Superdome Turf.

Is anyone else concerned with the staggering number of injuries at home? Not just the Saints, either. There are more players with leg injuries after Saints games than anywhere else. Is someone looking at this?

Any other issues??

Our o-tackles are playing like jello mold. I honesty think we (like I am on the team or something) were playing dink and dunk offense to protect Drew and more especially his knee. And both of our tackles looked to be getting beat regularly.

The injuries; I believe we've had someone get hurt in every game so far...

Execution of basic fundamentals:
1) Missed blocking assignments
2) Dropped passes (catch first, run after the catch)
3) Missed tackles (wrap and roll)
4) Fumbles (maintaining possession beyond the whistle)
5) Maintaining lane assignments in coverage

I hope the staff is tracking 1, 2, 3, and 5 - and gets to the bottom of it. The players have to be aware and put a stop to #4, as much as is possible. You only get a reprieve if both arms get broken.

Offensive line has moved from #1-5 for the last 4 years to #20, this explains your deep ball and run problem. Brees has no time in the pocket.

Defensive Line has moved from #22 in 2009 to #29, we got worse.

I would worry about these 2 things 1st, and then see what falls into place after they are fixed over 2-3 games. We need our OL and DL back up to speed.
