Betts will get the most playing time because of his versatility as a pass blocker and receiver, not to mention ball security. When Ivory is in, the D will know it's a running play. He needs to become more well-rounded before he will be more than a bit player. Also he needs to demonstrate ball security to earn Payton's trust.

I agree Betts should start. It looks like Ivory is the number one on the depth chart though. I wouldn't mind seeing a 50/50 split, give Ivory some time on the field now when there is a chance

I deffo think 50/50 will be good, lets pound the rock, let zona try to play cover 4 until we getting runs of 10 yards plus every play, then brees will burn em. |

I would lean towards Ladell Betts, Washington made a mistake keeping Portis and dealing Betts. Although I will say that Ivory runs hard and makes things happen. I look forward to Ivory eventually being one of our key RB's. With our current injury situation it's nice to have both of them.

I find it interesting that Betts got 75% of the vote so far. I'd have thought about 60-40.
I think if you'd ask which RB would be a more valuable starter at the end of the season I think those numbers reverse. Now that I've thought about it for a while, starting Ivory may be such a huge boost to his confidence that it may be worthwhile. I'm changing my vote to Ivory. Its not like both won't see a lot of carries anyway. |

I agree with Saintsfan1976 pound them with Betts early then run over them with Ivory late.

Ivory has had some explosive runs which I like, but he has ball control issues. I still think he will get the majority of carries. Keep Betts in for his blocking and to run occasionally.
