My thoughts on what is happening

Maybe I am seeing this in a weird way but...

This season seems alot like the 2007 season.

Of course everyone remembers 2006. 2007 was a toal 180 compaired to '06.
When '07 started that it seemed like every NFL team knew what play the Saints were going to run. This year, I am seeing the same thing. I know some don't believe that studing game tape is the reason we are losing. I for one think it is.

We have the majority of the same players we had last year. Same coaches and same plays. Has the well run dry? Has the offense all of a sudden become crap?

I don't know. It does seem like we have alot of issues that really need to be fixed. Only Sean and Greg can fix them. I wish I knew where to start.

Yeah, I think getting the wounded back will help some, but we gotta look less lethargic with the players we do have.

Ya know, I didn't think one person could make that big of a deal...but I think your right. Just him being on the field opens 1-2 players up. Hurry up and get better Reggie, we need you. Now, more than ever.

It does seem like we are very predictable this year. But I tend to lean toward the fact that the injuries have finally caught up with us. Of course the injured players aren't the ones on the field turning the ball over either. If we can just work out of this funk we are in and get healthy while finding ways to win in the process we will be ok. No one in the NFL is really on fire so far. I felt after the first week of action that the season wouldn't go far without everyone having at least one loss. Interesting stat brought up today is that this is the first time since 1970 that there hasn't been at least one 5-0 team after five weeks.

Injuries have certainly played a part, but it sure feels like the problems go beyond injuries. I remember when someone would screw up Brees and/or Payton would be all up in their grill. I'm not seeing any of that fiery leadership. I saw it versus the Vikes, but that was only on defense.

The good news is that we're probably the most talented 3-2 team in the NFC, so talent isn't the problem so I'd think the problems are correctable. But its time for one of our leaders to put a foot up someones arse.

Yea, like I said the injured players aren't the ones turning the ball over. Something has let the air out of this team. You're right, the problems are correctible. We have too much talent and too smart of a coaching staff for this to continue.

I also think that once Sharper gets back, along with Porter, and the safety rotations back to normal with Young, and Jenkins, we are going to see a completely different defense. Will Smith is banged up, so is Vilma. And don't even get me started on the offensive side of the ball. The good news is, that we are only in week five right now. We still have time to get it together, but division wins are all must wins, from here on out.
