Advocate sportswriter Published: Oct 14, 2010 METAIRIE — By Wednesday, it appeared Drew Brees had pretty much erased from his mind his sub-par performance in the New Orleans Saints’ 30-20 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. But Monday and Tuesday, before the Saints officially turned the page on the Cardinals’ debacle and began preparing for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Bucs in Raymond James Stadium, was a different story altogether. Brees and his offense have been scuffling most of the still-early season to pile up yardage and points and they struggled mightily against Arizona. He threw three interceptions and the Saints also lost a fumble, which led to 21 of the Cardinals’ 30 points. “When you talk to us on Wednesday, it’s the furthest thing from my mind because right now I’m thinking about the Bucs — our next opponent,” Brees said of his mind-set. “But Monday and Tuesday, yes, it’s frustrating and disappointing to feel like offensively we gave them 21 points. “We’re fighting there at the end and had a chance, and you just feel like that’s a game you should have won. We committed the cardinal sin of offensive football, which is turning the ball over, especially when you give up two touchdowns to their defense and don’t even allow your defense on the field and defend it. Our defense played great.” Read the full article here... 2theadvocate.com | Sports | Struggling Brees, Saints seek answers — Baton Rouge, LA Last edited by papz; 12-24-2011 at 07:47 PM.. |
