New Orleans Saints tailback Pierre Thomas said the swelling keeps going down in sprained left ankle. But his impatience keeps rising as he's set to miss his third straight game. Thomas said it's "painful" to sit back and watch without being able to help out on the field. "I'm a little frustrated, but hey, it's coming along," said Thomas, who said his ankle is "starting to look like a normal ankle again." Read the rest here... The announcers made a comment I thought was telling. They said Payton was frustrated with PT's healing because it's not even a high ankle sprain. Just a sprained ankle. It made me wonder as well. The Saints lose without him and the running game struggles. What better leverage in contract talks is there than that? Now Ivory, along with Payton committing to the run with his playcalling, has taken that leverage away. I love PT and what he brings. He was and still is the most complete back on the team. But, he's not made it through a season without missing games, and Ivory looks the part of a better pure runner with more potential and Bush, who also can't stay healthy, brings more as a situational back. There's a long way to go, but I don't see PT as a Saint next year.
