How does a coach discipline a fresh world champion?

How does a coach go about getting grilling Brees after all of the praise, after all of the media attention, after being told he was the best, after leading his team to the greatest of all show's on the planet?

Same with most of the rest of the players on this team, how do you get it in their head they got to believe in themselves and become get back on a winning path, you can't use a last year failure like most coaches do, you can't tell them your going to replace them because they aren't effective enough.
Maybe im wrong and Sean Payton is in the locker room grilling everybody right now but i just don't see it..
I think he has a case with the rookies but the players that led this team to the bowl, i don't see what Payton can say to motivate them to win games when they already know how to win.

I imagine it can be left unsaid between Payton and Brees. Would have to be awkward for both of them though...."Drew, can I uh......see you in my....uh.....office? *gulp*

What I would like to think is that this is the best thing to happen to this team and they will come out angry, but I thought that same after a mediocre start to the season and then whipped Tampa pretty soundly to which I exhaled and said, "Whew....glad that slump is over".

Maybe he should have benched a couple, may seem a little harsh but I was Sooooo ****ed off with how we played!! Every player needs to be held accountable, that's even including the guy that deserves the praise for bringing new orleans back, brees.

Bench him until after the bye. That should make the message come across loud and clear.

A long benching of Brees is not going to solve anything. However, after that first half he had I would have started the 3rd quarter with Daniel, just to send a message and shake things up. Let Daniel play one series and then go back to Brees and see if that would have made a difference. Seriously, I am not really sure what to make of this team right now.

Not benching Brees down 30-10 and with 3:30 left to go was UNACCEPTABLE. Put Chase Daniel in and please show just an inkling of a sign that Brees' performance was awful and unacceptable.

The game was long over, admit it and move on. I HATE that Payton was padding stats and trying to put a cute little Strawberry Shortcake bandaid on this loss for Brees and Colston. I wish we had lost 30-10. Run the ball six times up the middle and end this disgrace already.

To paraphrase a SNL quote I heard today -

"Don't criticize a man (Sean Payton) until you've walked a mile in his shoes. That way, you'll have his shoes and be a mile away from him."

Every player has probably read his book and better understands his motivational tools. Deep down Payton wants to take the gloves off and go off on the entire offense.........Maybe it will take a disciplinary measure rather than a motivational measure.
I'm not in his shoes but I've read his book. I don't think Payton wants to put the blame solely on Drew which would have a negative ripple effect through out the team. That is something that only desperate coaches attempt.jmho I may feel a little lost but I'm not desperate.

Let Greg Williams coach the offense this week at practice.
