He had time to avoid contact. He absolutely didn't have to shove the guy with the force he did. The chain guy should have been more aware of the situation. Almost every gunner on that play always gets shoved out of bounds. It's the NFL. It's the biggest, strongest, fastest, and meanest guys around in a 60 minute, all-out battle. It should be used as a teaching tool for all so hopefully this can be avoided in the future.

No man, this one is on Roby. He is the athlete. Plus he had plenty of time to get back into the field of play (which he was flagged for not doing) or avoid the guy...besides what could a 50+ year old, overweight guy have done to avoid him anyway?

I was just discussing this with a C-Worker who said he was at a full run and didn't have time to veer.
To which I replied. "If Roby had the ball and there was 5 yards between him and Ricky Jackson was coming at his ass, he would have found a way to cut." |
