I totally agree that Brees isn't playing up to snuff this year, but I'm a little tired of people thinking Breese did it all last year, and it entirely responsible for all our problems this year.
Receivers have to get open, then catch the ball, linemen need to keep them off, the D needs to stop people, needs to be ready for trick plays, the coach needs to ready them for trick plays. Hell 14 of those points were from trick plays, that no-one had prepared for. Where was the guy that watches for some odd guy 40 yards away from the center of attention on the ball? No, it wasn't just Breese, and when you start benching your starter, then you open up a can of psychological worms. I might've played the whole second team on that last drive, as it was really hopeless. Might as well let them have a go, just to get some game experience. |

Should Brees have been benched? No. Should we let our backup get some experience? Possibly. If Brees keeps getting hit as often as he is then an injury is much more likely. I don't believe that the face of our franchise needs to be sent a message. Instead he and Payton need to get down to business and make the adjustments necessary to get us back in sync.

What happened Sunday vs the Browns was more like "You better find a way to right the ship in times of despair". Damn right I leave my QB in. |

I refuse to vote in this poll. You don't bench players of Drew's caliber. Benching is meant to send a message. I'm quite certain Drew is aware of how he played. You don't bench a Brady, a Brees, or a P. Manning.
You just do not do that. |

I'm for giving Chase some time. Perfect opportunity to give the guy some experience when the game is all but over and the way things are going with the O line Brees isn't going to make it through the season unscathed at this pace.

The entire offense needs to wake up. Receivers aren't getting separation, Meachem quit on 2 routes yesterday. David Thomas missed a couple of blocks one resulting in a sack. Defense is playing pretty darn well right now and the offense isn't holding up their end. OL needs to man up.
