I had a minute to ask my co-worker about the gold vs yellow issue ...
As a Purdue alum, he said that their color is commonly called 'old gold' or gold for short when referring to the school colors. 'Gold' is used in the Boilermakers fight song. And that the 'old gold' used by Purdue is virtually identically to the Saints team color. He was bummed about the Steelers loss, but said he would not term the Steelers uniform color as gold. He said that, to his eyes, the Steelers color is yellow and he refers to their colors as black and yellow. |
