The guys a professional, he understands it's midseason and the only thing he should worry about is winning games.
When the time comes, there is no guy that deserves it more than drew, everyone knows it. |

From a front office stand point, Brees is signed through 2011. No point in rushing anything at this point. Let this play out and take the issue up this upcoming offseason, when he has one year left. I mean just say he tears up a knee or something before the season is over. Then, only one year on the hook. If, lets say Brees gets a 10 year extension at this point, and he gets hurt, the franchise is on the hook for many more millions, could be an easy 6 year stretch of 3-13 type of seasons... Just sayin...

Tell you guys what...
For everything he has done for the team, the city, his teammates, and for me personally, he should be the highest paid player in the game...period. I can't think of another player who means more to their team, and he is truly an integral citizen in New Orleans. Again, I can't think of another player that meets his combined standards. I'm not one of these people who think Athletes are role models, but as an athlete, as a person, he is worthy. Surely Tom and Rita are aware of his merits, and I have faith he will retire wearing Black and Gold. |
C'mon Man...

Again, we are ALL emotional about Brees because of what he did, but the facts are facts --- I highly doubt he should be (or will be) the highest paid player in the league. Personally, I doubt he will be the highest paid QB when the dust settles. |
