this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; RB Pierre Thomas was not present at practice at all today. Can only assume that's a setback in his recovery since he worked lst wk. Jeff Duncan (jeffduncantp) on Twitter I'll bet he goes on IR within a week...

Wouldnt surprise me. We have gotten this far without him, and Ivory, if he can stay healthy seems to get better every week. Im not counting on his return, just viewing it as a bonus if he makes it back for the post season. I really think he is done for the year, and done as a Saint.

absolutely done. hate to see him go but i we have other guys ready to fill in. rb is not that elite of a position anymore. its important yes but rarely do you have 1 rb for years anymore. its a revolving door now a days. gore, jackson, peterson, etc are the exceptions.

Its a win win situation for us.

Its a business. I am not into tying up money we can spend elsewere on a hurt player just because we think we owe it to him because he is a good guy and was an underdog. The players know this is the way it is going into it.

And I don't know many cattle that bring in a minimum of $350,000 per year.

It's a given at this point that the Saints are not home free at RB. Ivory is doing well but the guy has a history of bad injuries along with Bush.
We need PT if we make the playoffs. I hope he can come around in about 7 weeks but not being at practice for whatever reason is not a good sign. That says he's got something more important to tend to which is likely his injury. |
